Things to do in Batangas

Everyone's favorite escape from the city will always be Batangas. Since it will only take a few hours to get there, it is the easiest beach getaway to plan. Besides the different beaches embracing the beautiful province of Batangas, there are also a lot of mountain trails that you can hike. There are 3-4 hour hikes, an all day hike, and there are variety of mountain trails to choose from depending on the level of difficulty you desire.

There are lot of stuff that you can do here in Batangas (click the link for more info from TripAdvisor) and here are some of the highlights from my Batangas trip.

📍VIRGIN BEACH RESORT, BATANGAS
We went here during a weekday, lucky enough, we had the place to ourselves. We came here for a company outing with my co baristas. You could enjoy activities like beach volleyball, island tour, fly fish, banana boat, coral reef diving, etc.

I love these bed parasols made available for day tourists. Just you and the beach.

Certified beach junkie! Just imagine the intense sunburn I got after this trip hahahaha

We went to go coral reef diving and we also fed fishes. I am sorely tempted to buy a gopro to have a selfie with the reefs and fishes huhuhu.

📍MUNTING BUHANGIN, NASUGBU, BATANGAS

Despite having a lot of bad reviews, I still recommend Munting Buhangin beach resort for those who are going for a short day trip and just wanted to feel the salty wind by the beach.

It wasn't really part of our itinerary to go here but I insisted to go hit the beach even for a short while. We played beach volleyball and watched the sunset. Good enough for those who are just 'passing by the beach'.

📍MT. MACULOT, CUENCA, BATANGAS

This trip to Mt. Maculot was by far the most memorable one because it was the first trip that me and my childhood bestfriend planned step by step. Haha. Usually when I go for trips, I go with groups and we bring our own ride for a less hassle trip. Rarely do I commute on roadtrips and this was the first!

So basically our itinerary went something like this;

06:00 ride a bus in Buendia bound to Lemery
09:00 ETA Cuenca, Batangas
10:00 Registration, preparation, and trike ride!
12:00 base camp! hello rockies!
13:00 Photoshoot! hehe
14:00 start descending

Midway view

Can you see how steep the way up the rockies behind us?! Hahahaha but when you get to the top, the reward is very promising.

This was a buwis buhay shot! The kuya tour guide told us that there was an incident in the past that a person fell down after sitting by the edge of that mountain. Hahahaha. I was already bidding goodbye to my mom and dad before I sat down at that exact spot. But to be honest, the feeling was surreal.

After the climb, we went to the nearest beach in Nasugbu but we failed to find one and it was already getting dark. We were too tired to go beach hopping and so we stayed the night at Esther's beach resort.

Before leaving the morning after. Mandatory swing photo. Lol.

📍DREAMLAND ARTS AND CAFE, TAGAYTAY CITY
Dreamland Arts and Cafe has two branches; one in Lipa, Batangas and one in Tagaytay. We chose the one that's nearer nasugbu which was the one in Tagaytay.
When we got there, the inner artist in me went wild! Haha. I just love the feels of place. The vibe is just as calming as the breezy wind outside. It's interior are filled with artworks and its trademark, dreamcatchers.

Chicken Alfredo and Chicken tocino for our brunch

📍PICO DE LORO, HAMILO COAST, NASUGBU, BATANGAS
Last but not the least, one of my personal favorites of places I visited in Batangas this 2016 is Pico de Loro beach and country club. It is the perfect place to unwind and relax! Travel tip; go during weekdays. You'll surely have the place all to yourself.

Seafood Marinara and Beef Salpicao for brunch

Pool View

St. Therese of  the Child Jesus Chapel
This is probably one of the most beautiful churches that I've ever seen. It's walled by glass structures where in sun rays will glimmer through all day while dwelling at the view of the beach.

Exploring Batangas isn't something you could squeeze in one day. Even if I went to the different places here, I am still thrilled to see more of it in the future. I hope you guys enjoyed my trip to Batangas!

So what's your favorite Batangas getaway?

xx,

    1. Hi Kai! There is this resort in Lipa that I went to. You could try searching up Nayomi Sanctuary Resort. The place is still new and very relaxing. I'll do a blog post about the place any time soon! :)
