When I started my traveller era back in 2016, I only explored tourists spots in Luzon, since I was residing in Manila and traveling within Luzon was accessible through land transportation. I promised myself that once I finish med school, I would travel more domestically to see the wonders of Visayas and Mindanao.
So why Cebu?
I attended a wedding in Mactan Island last 2024, and we stayed in Cebu for just 2 days. I promised myself that I would be back to explore the city more.
Then during my travels in 2025, I took a few intro classes for freediving. And figured why not explore the different dive spots in Visayas.
Cebu has always been a layover whenever I visit Bacolod, which was my boyfriend's province. Then I decided that every time I would travel to Visayas, I would stay a bit in Cebu to explore more of its beauty and the islands near it.
I love how Cebu is situated near Bohol, Iloilo, Bacolod, and how easily you could travel each province via ferry.
