Basking under the sun while exploring Taman Mini Indonesia means it's another one of those "tiis ganda" episodes.
The thing about travelling to Indonesia is that in their culture most women dress conservatively. You have to wear those cropped tops, skirts, and shorts to a bare minimum.
I just love how the ensemble of my outfit blend in with the scenery giving off a very summery and warm feels.
Besides wearing the color scarlet, I entitled this post as such based on the novel written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, "The Scarlet Letter". The scarlet letter was also produced as a movie and portrayed in several Hollywood movies like The Easy A starring Emma Stone.
Well basically, the story tackles about social stigmatizing a woman who was allegedly accused of adultery and she has an embroidered "A" on all the clothes she wear.
Social stigmas are very prominent nowadays and it is somehow a form of discrimination. This post goes to empowering women, especially those who experience social stigmas on how they bring themselves in public.
It is important that women have their freedom of dressing themselves without being catcalled by bystanders. Don't judge anyone based on how they dress. This is one of my major pet peeves! Just because one decides to wear shorts/skirt because of the humid weather, doesn't mean it gives you the right to disrespect us. I mean come on, there a lot of dudes that go topless around the streets, do they hear women catcalling them?
To all the ladies out there, don't get caught up with these social stigmas. Be empowered and feel good about yourself. Disregard those narrow minded people. Don't let their useless words get into you.
